Enjoy A Fashionable Life

What is the situation inside the wonderful world of Sydney fashion? Is it just me, or is everyone finding the fashion expensive?

However, like me, are you also obsessing over a few pieces in store? As for my wardrobe, it’s a wholesome collection of awesome pieces – although could most of the time use more clothes! It’s surprising how many outfits one can style for everyday looks, based on new and old items (mixing it up!). How many looks can I style, with what I have? As one of my previous articles was solely about shirts, recently, (for Easter) I paired them with shorts for an upbeat look. As one of my quotes mentions, I add a pop of colour to everyday outfits too. For colour, I put my bold pink Zara blazer over plain colours. Try bold! My new ‘Viktoria & Woods’ shirt that I am loving the look of - is the plain oversized white shirt, crispy and big collared, for a neat and professional look. Designer brands look good on everyone. And warehouse sales are good to everyone’s wallets!

Today is my relaxed look, for editing and planning more articles. With a pair of jeans, a cropped grey t-shirt, and a Scotch & Soda jacket.  It is important to dress appropriate to the weather, so sleeveless tops, and shorts were ideal a couple of weeks ago. This week however, I’ve been wearing a colourful tee with a cardi, and blazer. I’ve recently added a simple and beautiful day dress to my wardrobe, (from Bassike for $90!!), and styling is made easy. It’s best served as smart casual!

I have my eye on some one-piece swimsuits, and my dress collection is overflowing, a dress is the last thing I need! The dress in my wardrobe, for my next outfit for a solid event, is by Pfeiffer. It’s a mini, tee like style, and I’ll be wearing that with maybe a smart blazer, and heels would go so well! However, it depends on the event, a mini heel is trending, Billini has some nice heels, affordable too.

Accessories add to the styling element, and bringing back my classic jewellery items has been successful. Such as, my grandma’s four-leaf clover pendant, and a chunky chain necklace from Mimco. However, any brands will do, it’s about having a variety. I am finding the use of earrings, necklaces, and rings, interchangeably, a fun and necessary part of any outfit details!

How do I know what goes with what?! In simple terms, a mirror! Neutral colours, with a bold colour, smart shorts with almost anything, such as a shirt, and other statement tops paired with plain pants. There are so many looks to do, I’m sure everyone’s wardrobe is overcrowded, and aching to be worn (much like mine!).

How do I know what outfit to wear? Lately, I’ve been going by the feel of the day’s activities, and mood, once I pick my feeling, I style my outfit. For example, going to the beach on a cloudy day, I thought jeans and a cute top! For studying and business, I go for shirts and colour. For shopping, a casual dress.

What about winter fashion, you might be asking! Well, I have a few pieces to bring together, it is crucial to have a few staple pieces in mind, just in case we experience a cold front. Or even when (if ever) it gets cold. I’m dying to know, are matching tracksuits still in fashion here in Sydney? Let me know, because I have so many tracksuits to style, with accessories, and it looks good enough to wear out of the house!

The ‘why’ of styling – why do it? It gives us a confidence boost. A lot of my readers are fashionably adept. So, learning the language of fashion is fun and simple. It is a lifelong skill, and the more you practise it, the more it grows!

BOOK OF THE MONTH: Fourth wing, what a read! Couldn't put it down, it's inviting, smooth to read, and engaging. Totally fictional! That's the best part! All about Dragons, and a different world, however, lots of normal human emotions, and good intimate scenes! It's a guessing game of what will happen, and a total shock at the end!

A long book, but worth the read because it encompasses your entire imagination - very descriptive, and great characters!
