It’s a beautiful and relaxing part of Serbia, three hours our of Belgrade, mostly under-looked. From an Aussie’s perspective, who came from the bush and Georges River, to a place where the bugs and insects were enjoyable, did not bother anyone, and welcomed into the home! Where there are endless amounts of trees, all sitting up on hills, and a huge lake, called Zlatibor. The roads are made of rock and earth, and its fun to drive on and enjoy the scenery, at every direction you look! The air is fresh, clean and it is very relaxing and you know you are in holiday mode, for healing and seeing friends and family! The bush walk is amazing, one of a kind, and no effort or going out of your way to walk it, unlike home, where it was hard to go down the street to achieve a short walk!
I climbed up the hill, and saw lots of beautiful butterflies, in all different colours, I haven’t seen them in years! The view was honestly something out of a magazine, on top of a mountain, and overlooking all the hills, the grass and fields, and seeing the beautiful sunset. It is truly breathtaking! There is so much greenery to feast your eyes on, and every window has a view. The birds sing all day, the crickets sing all day, and it is all apart of the relaxing sound effects.
There is no gym here, unfortunately, however, I am able to complete some study, meet new people, and enjoy the views.
There are nearby places to visit, such as the town of Novi Varos, the lake for a swim, the restaurant downstairs, the grocery store, and of course our neighbours house for food and drink! The village is a society and community on its own, where the people have unique ways of understanding and communicating, their own gardens, cutting the grass, and making piles of hay for the animals in winter. The people grew up here, and now it just a holiday home, and they travel from Belgrade to here in the summer time.
I'm excited to see what comes next, on this trip, and visiting a piece of home, I'm glad I'm in the wilderness, and experiencing it for the first time again! Let's see what Belgrade has to offer when I go to home there! :)
